Farm turbine impacts on landscaped basin

The erection of a 64 metre high 500kW turbine at a farm in south Wales has been denied planning permission because it would appear as a conspicuous and obtrusive feature which would undermine the local landscape quality. In so concluding an inspector rejected the council's claim that it was necessary for the appellant to demonstrate that the vehicles required to deliver the turbine to site could be accommodated on local roads thereby necessitating a trial run.
