Pickles blocks 200 Somerset green belt homes

Communities secretary Eric Pickles has blocked an appeal against a council's rejection of up to 200 homes on a green belt site at Whitchurch in Somerset after concluding that the factors in favour of the scheme, including the council's lack of a five-year housing land supply, did not outweigh its negative impacts on the green belt.
