User guide: How to use the tooltip (info bubble) feature in COMPASS Online

To ensure you are getting all relevant appeals on COMPASS Online it is important to look at the tooltip feature (also know as the "info bubble") when conducting your searches.

The tooltip contains information on when the code was introduced, whether a different code was in supervisory, if the code is no longer in use and any other codes that may be of interest.

For example if you are looking to search for discount retailers (e.g. Aldi, Lidl, Netto) on COMPASS Online go to the Advanced Word Search and next to the Development field click on table of contents button.

A separate window will open.

Find your category. If some tooltip text is available there will be a yellow "I" symbol next to the field number and text. To view the text hover over the field name. If the text disappears after a certain period of time and you wish to continue reading the text then simply move the cursor away from the field name and then back onto it.

In the discounters example the title text displayed is "Code introduced in August 2006. See code 006 for cases coded before August 2006. e.g Kwik Save, Lidl, Netto, Aldi"

Therefore if you are interested in discounter appeals coded before August 2006 you will need to use code 006 as advised, but be aware that as this code was more broadly used before August 2006 using the code will also return retail warehouses.

For any questions about how to use the tooltip feature please contact customer services on dcs@haymarket.com or call 01452 835820
