Q: We have received an application for a supermarket raised on stilts with provision for car parking underneath. The covered parking area is enclosed on one side by the building structure and open on three sides. We feel this creates significant covered floorspace falling within category 2, schedule 1 of the Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications and Deemed Applications) Regulations 1989 for the purpose of calculating the fee. We have a difference of opinion with the agents and would welcome advice. LK
