Data check - Planning applications in Dundee

The number of planning applications received by Dundee City Council nearly halved between 2006/07 and 2010/11, according to figures presented to the council's development management committee last week. The data shows that the council received more than 1,100 planning applications in 2006/07, but only 651 in 2010/11. The report says that the drop in applications has now "bottomed out" and adds that "significant progress" has been made in the determination of all applications.
