Santander Foundation will no longer fund regeneration projects

The Santander Foundation, which was formed from the merger of the charitable activities of Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley, has said that it will no longer fund regeneration projects. But the foundation said it will raise the funding it allocates to charities in 2010 to £3.33 million, from £3.28 million in 2009.

There were 20 per cent fewer net additional homes built in England in 2009/10 than in the previous financial year, according to government data. In 2009/10, 166,570 homes were built, compared with 207,370 in 2008/09.
